History
Established in 1918, Fort Bragg has played a vital role in the history of the United States Army for more than a century. The installation is home to elite military units, including the XVIII Airborne Corps and the U.S. Army Special Operations Command, and has long been recognized as one of the world's largest military installations. In 2023, the installation was renamed Fort Liberty before officially returning to the name Fort Bragg in 2025. Today, Fort Bragg continues its legacy of service while supporting thousands of military personnel, civilian employees, veterans, and their families.
